Le chia en graines (Salvia hispanica L.) est une espèce de plante de la famille des lamiacées (Lamiaceae), cultivée à l'origine par les Aztèques en Amérique centrale. À l'époque, les Aztèques en connaissaient, déjà les particularités. Ils ont utilisé les graines chaque jour comme une nourriture riche et variée. Il a égale- ment joué un rôle central dans la civilisation précolombienne de Maya. Utilisation / remarque : nous achetons la semence de chia conformément au Règlement européen relatif aux nouveaux aliments et ingrédients alimentaires pour la consommation de produits de boulangerie à 10 % max. Chia seeds (Sal- via hispanica L.) are a plant species from the mint family (Lamiaceae) and were originally cultivated by the Aztecs of Mesoamerica. The Aztecs knew about the special characteristics of this plant: consumption of its seeds made them physically untiring and mentally superior to their enemies and used it every day as a precious and versatile viand. Chia had a central role within the pre-Columbian Mayan civilisation as well. Usage/ As a hint: under the terms of the implementing decision, we sell chia seed for the consumptjon in bread products as 10 % max. The daily intake is no more than 15 g.
